Unit Description:

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage the storage of goods in a warehousing, logistics, or supply chain environment. It includes planning storage requirements, supervising the placement and handling of goods, ensuring safe and efficient use of storage space, and maintaining stock integrity and documentation.

The unit applies to individuals who are responsible for overseeing the storage function within a warehouse or similar environment. They may have some responsibility for the work of others and may work independently or as part of a team.


Key Elements:

  1. Plan and prepare for storage

    • Assess storage requirements based on inventory type and quantity
    • Identify and allocate appropriate storage locations
    • Consider compatibility, safety, and access needs
  2. Manage the receiving and storage process

    • Oversee receipt and checking of goods
    • Ensure goods are stored promptly, correctly, and safely
    • Monitor handling practices to avoid damage or loss
  3. Maintain stock integrity and documentation

This unit specifies  the competencies required to facilitate training of public procurement.It involves applying public procurement concepts to the organization context, formulating public procurement bodies legal framework for the organization determining the role of public procurement bodies in Kenya, adapting public procurement rules and principles to organization context, developing internal  organization structure of public procurement implementing procurement methods and procedures, preparing public procurement  contracts and demonstrating ethics in public procurement.

The  unit  integrates essential  concepts such as the entrepreneurship mindset human-centered design,lean start up methodologies, customer discovery processes and  intellectual property rights

It equips staff with the skills to handle deliveries safely, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational procedures. Ideal for warehouse, retail, and logistics personnel.
